The Dubuque Symphony Orchestra Turns 50
| Yes, it's true -- the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra has reached another milestone. Following up on the banner year of its 49th season, the Symphony is now gearing up for its half-century birthday!
Even though the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra’s lineage can be traced back to 1903, the 2008 - 2009 season marks its 50th anniversary. Don't worry, it's not fuzzy math or voodoo economics. In 1903 the first Dubuque civic orchestra was formed and performed regularly until World War II interrupted its concert schedule. It wasn’t until 1958 that a new orchestra was formed, this time under the auspices of the University of Dubuque. In 1974, the University Civic Symphony changed its name to the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra to reflect the organization’s mission to serve the entire community.

Southwest Tech Offers Training to Help Wisconsin Businesses Win Government Contracts
Southwest Wisconsin Technical College (SWTC) will help area businesses learn how to effectively compete for contracts to sell their products and services to the federal government at a training seminar to be held
on Tuesday, July 22, 2008. The training session will be conducted by the Business Procurement Assistance Center (BPAC) at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College’s Fennimore campus. A $30 fee for the seminar will cover the cost of materials.
